Case Study: Melbourne water authorities – Sewer network

Sewer Property Branch Closure. The use of an internal clip.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Sewer Authorities in Victoria are now 3 years in front of the rest of Australia. All thanks to their forward thinking drainage engineers. Largely it is the Victorian developers who take on the cost for abandoned property branch cut and seals. But not by an excavator but rather the installation of a stainless steel internal clip positioned inside the retic branch. This method is fast and economical, performed only by an approved live sewer water authority contractor with a CCTV unit and a pneumatic installation trolley packer. This simple, no fuss trenchless installation safe guards accidental concrete engulfment’s into the sewer retic network. A cut and seal can accidentally be dislodged or even be clipped by an auger excavating foundations tight on an easement boundary. There are many incidents on record of new drainage alignments being required due to cured concrete in the sewer retic line. Sometimes this can from one manhole to the next manhole.
