CASE STUDY: OLD DRAINS, NEW SOLUTIONS

Minimum disruption to cafe

Using the Smart Lock repair system and Smart Patches, New Plumbing Solutions were able to restore the pipe and reduce the cost of repair to a compromised drain system.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Committed to investigating and investing in new, innovative technologies to solve old problems, NPS turned to Smart Lock Group for a solution when an asset was excessively impaired.

NPS Managing Director Damien Bradley said its client had a severely damaged drain next to a café in parkland gardens with significant trees and hard landscaping surrounding it, resulting in any rain event compromising the café and leaving the community unable to use the gardens.

To avoid the costly and disruptive “dig and repair” method of corrective works, NPS was able to propose a Smart Lock solution.

“The simple installation and effective cure time of using the Smart Lock means the job can be completed with minimum disruption,” says Mr. Bradley.

Given the issues were rectified only where there was specific damage’ the solution provided a cost-effective outcome, and the trenchless technology solution utilised ensured there was no business interruption.

Mr. Bradley said there are many measurable benefits of using the Smart Lock system compared to traditional methods, including that it is 35% cheaper, it allows for 100% of business continuity during works and the time reduced by 40%.
